What is Binary Emulsion?
Binary Emulsion is, quite simply, “Digital Film.” It’s a blending of photography’s roots with the digital age. Silver-halide emulsion has been largely replaced by bits and bytes. For me, that shift is what reignited my interest in photography. I started playing with cameras at a very early age. I still remember how happy I was when I unwrapped my, bright blue Polaroid Square Shooter 2 as a kid. Today that Polaroid has been replaced by a couple of digital SLR camera bodies and a bag full of lenses. The wonder is the same, only the tools are different.
Yosemite is my current love. It’s a magical place that changes every time you visit. Each season shows you a different view and a different character; whether it be booming waterfalls in spring, colorful alpine wildflowers in summer or the cold still of winter. In my images I’ve tried to capture those changing faces of the park.
About my prints
All images on this site are available for sale or commerical use. For information regarding licensing, sizes, matting, framing and presentation options please send me an email with the image name and the print size that you’re looking for. I calculate print prices based on the size and type of the paper necessary to print the image. The actual printed area may vary slightly depending the image selected. To maintain maximum control over the creative process I shoot in RAW format and do all my own processing and printing.
I use Epson UltraChrome K3 Professional inks on Epson fine art papers to ensure archival quality and long lasting prints. Like any fine art print, maximum longevity is achieved when the print is framed using acid-free materials, under glass or acrylic and kept out of direct sunlight.
